Sports Diver

The BSAC Sport Diver qualification has the following elements :-

  • Six theory modules – which are all done online, you will need to purchase digital training packs or eLearning in the BSAC Shop
  • Then skills training which can be arranged through our Club with our Instructors either from our Dive boat or at an Inland site such as Wraysbury . We do not charge for skills training, but you would need to pay for any boat dive fees and/or associated costs for the Inland dive sites.  Time line for skills training depends on the availability of our Instructors and/or the weather!  Skills training consists of the following:-
  • Two dry practical sessions
  • Sheltered water rescue skills session
  • Six open water dives

A Sports Diver will have gained further open water experience, undertaken diver rescue exercises and is considered ready to take part in dives partnered by another diver of similar or higher standing. Sport divers can dive to a maximum depth of 40m, although most of our deep dives in the English Channel are in the 35/40m range.
